Applying For
Electricité de Zahlé bills collection procedure is monthly based. Our meter readers and bill collectors visit your home or business every month to read your meter indication and collect your monthly bill.

Note that your meter reader might not be your bill collector. In addition, EDZ inspection crews make unplanned examinations to the meters to check for meter reading and correct operation.

Bills processing can be summarized as follows. The issue of this month is actually your last month consumption i.e. if your bill is dated October then it records September's consumption and so on.

Bills are provided to you on a monthly basis. If you do not receive your bill at the usual time, please contact EDZ Customer Service Center immediately. It is very important you understand that when payment is not received before the due date, we automatically consider your bill overdue. If you are a new customer and need to know your regular payment period, just call EDZ Customer Service Center and you will be directly assisted. Refer to the Contact Info page for EDZ telephone numbers.

With every monthly bill, you are entailed to pay monthly fixed charges. The fixed charges are divided into two main categories, the Subscription Charge and the Rehabilitation Charge, your bill clearly separates between the two charges. Note that fixed charges are monthly added up to your bill whether you are consuming energy or not.

Subscription Charge:

This charge is a factor of your subscription rating. It follows the below equation for calculation:

L.L. 240 for every Phase-Ampere of the subscription

Examples:

-          if your subscription is rated monophase-15Amp then your subscription charge is 1*15*240 = L.L. 3,600

-          if your subscription is rated threephase-15Amp then your subscription charge is 3*15*240 = L.L. 10,800

Rehabilitation Charge:

These are the costs of delivering electricity from power generating plants to your home or business. This includes the costs to build and maintain the transmission lines and corresponding towers.

This charge value depends on your subscription rating, and is calculated as follows:

L.L. 5,000   if total subscription rating is <= 50 Ampere

L.L. 10,000 if total subscription rating is >   50 Ampere

Examples:

-          if your subscription is rated monophase-15Amp then your rehabilitation charge is L.L. 5,000

-          if your subscription is rated threephase-20Amp then your rehabilitation charge is L.L. 10,000

Rather than having an EDZ collector visit you to collect your monthly bill which is the default payment plan, you can arrange for an automatic payment bank draft.

To enroll in this payment plan, you have to contact your bank to sign a corresponding agreement that would authorize EDZ to deduct your payment directly from your bank account. You then provide us with a copy of your authorization form and your billing process will be automated. EDZ will periodically debit your account and the draft can occur anytime after the bill is issued. For more information, please contact EDZ Customer Service Center. Refer to the Contact Info page for EDZ offices address and telephone numbers.
At Electricité de Zahlé, we make your life easy, especially when it comes to billing. For this purpose, we always make sure our billing statement and procedures are simple to follow. In 2002, EDZ bill was redesigned and simplified. The new format rearranged the different sections of the bill in a way to group relevant parts together. If there is something you do not understand about the bill, please refer to this section to see a sample bill online including detailed explanations.
