Founded in the beginnings of the 1920s, Electricité de Zahlé (EDZ) is a private energy utility headquartered in Zahle, Beqaa – the administrative seat of the Beqaa region and the home of various touristic, cultural, and active commercial centers. EDZ generates and distributes electricity over medium and low voltage networks in the city of Zahle and the surrounding regions in an area of around 250 km2. EDZ serves Residential, Commercial, Industrial, Agriculture and Street Lighting customers in its designated area. This service area stretches from Kaa El Rim in the north to El Rawda in the south and from Taalabaya in the west to Ali El Nahri in the east.
